2018 Adventures with Aubrey

December 31, 2018 LyndseyLeave a comment

As the last few hours of 2018 tick away, I suppose it is time to reflect on all our hikes and adventures of the last year and begin planning for what lies ahead in 2019. 2018 started with Aubrey’s first winter peak. It was just a small one, climbing West Rattlesnake in Holderness. It was…… Continue reading 2018 Adventures with Aubrey

On Saturday 12/15 the weather looked favorable and I was desperate for some Mountain Therapy so I decided to head north not really sure where I was headed. I had given Aubrey the option to join me but she opted to stay home with Daddy and our newest family member Charger a Pyrador (Great Pyrenees…… Continue reading Mount Pemi

It’s been over a month since our last mountain adventure, between Aubrey in school full time, me still working the night shift and adjusting to a new sleep routine/schedule, both of us battling colds, and endless days of rain stopped us from getting out. Monday there was no school, I had the night off, and…… Continue reading Gap Mountain

North Pack Monadnock

October 1, 2018 Lyndsey3 Comments

There are only a few peaks in the Monadnock Region/ Southwest NH that Aubrey hasn’t hike yet. North Pack was one of them. Desperate to hike, I got home from work at 7:30am, packed our bags and headed out the door. We arrived to the trailhead just before 9am and there was only 2 other…… Continue reading North Pack Monadnock

Snow Day! So we dug out our xc skis and ventured off down the rail trail. Only 1 fall for each of us! Sooner or later we will get the hang of this sport!
Time for some changes! The focus of my blog/IG/FB page have always been on Aubrey, so it's time to better direct the focus on her and away from me. So goodbye @nhsummitmommy and welcome to @adventures.with.aubrey
Aubrey skipped school to go hiking with me today 😎 It was a great day to be out hiking, instead of stuck indoors.
We love visiting Wales Preserve, the Gridley River is constantly changing the scenery. Today we found huge ice chunks and "mushroom" ice formed on the river rocks. With the warming trend over the next couple days we will head back later this week to see what has changed.
Charger bagged his first Mountain today! He loved it! We opted to walk the Auto Road up Pack Monadnock, since Charger is still a young pup and didn't want to over do his first hike.

He wears his heart where everyone can see it.
And that's a wrap 2018. Bring on the 2019 adventures!! To read our 2018 recap check the link in my profile.
Much needed hike this morning. Aubrey opted to stay home with Daddy and Charger, so it was just me. Spent 4 hours in the car to only hike 3 hours but it was well worth it.
